Wellington Scrabble Classics

The World English Scrabble Players Association Champion 2015-2017 and Mind Sports Ambassador, Mr Wellington Jighere invites all and sundry to his maiden Scrabble Classics. The Wellington Scrabble Classics is a precursor to the Akpabio Classics which is also a precursor to WESPAC Kenya. Date: 8th – 10th September 2017 Venue: Option57 Hall and Suites, Abisogun Avenue, Akesan, Lagos. Number of Categories: Three (3) categories namely: Masters (1400 rating points and above), Opens (1399 rating points and below) and Youth (Under 17). 1st Nigerian MindGames Festival

Mind Games Incorporated invites the Scrabble community and the general public to the maiden edition of Nigerian MindGames Festival. The event will be held between 2nd – 5th November 2017 at Kakanfo Inn and Conference Center 1 Nihinlola Street Off Ring Road,  Joyce B Road, Ibadan Nigeria. The 1st Nigerian MindGames Festival will feature Scrabble, Draughts and Chess events in different categories. The Scrabble event comprises of Open, Intermediate and Masters  categories. Announcing the 9th Godswill Akpabio International Scrabble Classics

The 9th edition of the prestigious Scrabble Championship will be held from 27th to 3oth of September 2017 at Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, South-South Nigeria. The tournament will be chaired by His Excellency, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio (Pillar of Scrabble in Africa) and hosted by the Executive Governor, Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. All players, local and international are invited to participate and enjoy great hospitality and the splendid tourism attractions the beautiful city of Uyo has on offer. This years tournament will feature five (5) divisions including the Youth category for secondary and primary school students.

6th Godswill Akpabio Classics

The 6th Godswill Akpabio International Scrabble Classics will be held in Uyo,  Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria from the 27th to 30th September 2012. The event is sponsored by the executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Godswill Obot Akpabio and hosted by the good people of  Uyo in the serene and hospitable Akwa Ibom state of Nigeria.  The last edition of the Classics was won by Mr Sammy Okosagah, a Nigerian International Scrabble Master based in the U.K. He took home the sum of $10,000 (ten thousand US dollars) for his efforts. Diaspora Invitational Scrabble Tournament

The first Diaspora Invitational Scrabble tournament for Nigerians in Diaspora was held on the 22nd of April 2012 in U.K . The event was organized by the President of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation Toke Aka.
